loin chop.
coffee-spiced pork loin chop, seared and pan-roasted; new orleans styled rice pilaf; steamed and seasoned carrots and broccoli.

one day…
scrolling around jacques pepin’s website today…turns out you can rent a condo from him in mexico…found this pic of the kitchen. i’ve always wanted magnetic strips for pots, pans, knives, etc…i love the execution.
EDIT: my always attuned, beautiful wife just informed me that this picture does not depict wall magnets. just found this pic from julia child’s kitchen…sick.

scallops

scallops, lightly seasoned and seared in butter. complemented with rice pilaf and asparagus drizzled with a sauce creme.
reminded me of one of winston, the alien cat.

new coffee table

sabrina and i found this great iron and wood coffee table at the eastern market today in DC. the company, olde good things, specializes in architectural salvage and altered antiques. hopefully, this will be the first of many pieces we will be purchasing from this company in the years to come.
